I have gotten TWO burst blood vessels in my eyes in the last few weeks (I believe the technical term is subconjunctival hemorrhage). But why? Stress? Too many crunches at the gym? Lack of sleep? I’m not sure but I don’t like it.

Hereditary. Dr. Tracy, I had one so bad the clot was hanging OUTSIDE my eye! I had to go to the “Dr.” on that one because it was scary. He siad the tiny veins can burst with strain (carrying heavy objects, bowel movements, etc.). Also, a lack of Vitamin A (?) could be the culprit according to that Dr. My father also had them quite frequently. I don’t remember any treatment done, except the Dr. told me it would revolve around the eye until it was gone. For me, they have decreased over the years. I used to get maybe 5 or 6 a year. Now, one, maybe. See what your cronies at the hospital say!
