My little fish

Laney was not so keen on the cold water in our pool at the beach this year – but boy did she like the heated pool at our Boston hotel. Maybe reminded her of her birth! And Kaya now will jump in and sink to the bottom and think it’s the greatest thing on Earth – I think she might learn to swim quickly now that she’s not afraid to put her head under.

Audrey

The highlight of our Boston trip was meeting Baby Audrey – the gorgeous progeny of my freshman year roommate(s) at Emory, Lynn and Edward. She is only a few months younger than Laney, and I predict they will be playmates for life. She is also going to be the envy of the Rose girls, because as far as I can tell, she has the latest and greatest of all available baby equipment.

Birthdays

All of a sudden, Kaya has been invited to a million birthday parties. We are not sure whether we started a trend with her recent party, or if she just started actually getting invited because we invited her class to her party, or if she has just reached the age where kids invite their school friends to their parties. But her schedule is filling up. Here she is pushing her best bud Fiona on a swing at their friend Avik’s party.

Aquarium Gem

Despite my nearly constant harassment of Tommy to take pictures, I have very few pictures of me and both girls, and even fewer that I actually like. But then I found this gem hiding on Tommy’s phone! (Taken at the NC Aquarium a few weeks ago)

Spotter

Laney loves to stand and play, but she can only stay up for a minute or two. And she loves to stand at the stroller, but it moves forward on her and then she falls on her face. So, Kaya has devised a solution where she pushes the stroller all the way up to the couch so it doesn’t roll, then stands behind Laney and spots her. Now, if only she would feed and change her, we’d be all set.
