Her measles rash is evolving. I’m fascinated.

Kings Dominion
We spent Sunday at King’s Dominion after we found out the hotel we slept in the night before was 5 minutes down the road. It turns out that Kings Dominion has thought of everything and it’s possible to just show up and they sell anything you could need. Have a dog with nowhere to go? No problem – they have a kennel. 1 year old with no stroller? No problem – stroller rental? Fair-skinned redhead and blazing hot sun? No problem – brimmed hats for sale every 5 feet. It was a great mix of baby rides and roller coasters, as well as some delicious chicken tenders and a $12 refillable soda bottle.
Brow wiping or big mistake?
Congrats to Tommy’s cousin (once removed?) Jessica who got married this past weekend in Hanover, VA. It was Kaya’s first wedding and the first time meeting the Rose side of the extended family. It was great to see everyone and Kaya got to show off her fancy yellow dress. My lightning quick camera skills also caught this moment right after the ceremony:

Thank you Sabra
We’ve had a bit of a childcare disaster in Durham in the last week, which made me realize that I never properly thanked Sabra for all that she did for us in Boston. She watched Kaya since she was 3 months old and was a fantastic model of kindness, reliability, compassion and fun. We could not have asked for a better person to help us raise our daughter. Although God knows we’re asking for someone decent in Durham! Wish us luck.
Fellowship Blues
So far, I’ve managed to get under my belt: 1 month, 2 weekends, 4 call nights, and 19 bone marrow biopsies. Only 11 months, 16 weekends, 44 call nights, and god knows how many bone marrow biopsies left. And then I can take a nap.
And because no one wants to see pictures of bone marrow biopsies, I will just post a picture of my adorable baby and her very tired mommy.
