We’ve moved up to the next level as I can no longer carry Kaya in her infant carseat. I also just read an article about how women wearing red in their online dating profile pics get way more attention.

Someone is getting pretty steady when standing up nowadays.  Hasn’t quite started cruising yet, but she’s pulling up on everything.

Kaya is too heavy to Bjorn and carry around on our chests anymore, but obviously not walking yet and still needs to be carried everywhere.  So, we upgraded to the backpack style carrier and she loves it!  Now as  soon as it stops snowing in Boston, we can go hiking!

Kaya has been quite bummed the last couple days since she realized that her new buddy was not a permanent addition to the Rose house.  Baby Emerson Trey is 7 weeks younger than Kaya, and the baby of Tommy’s friend from high school Carlos and his wife Stephanie.  Carlos impressively took the baby on a trip all by himself for a whole 48 hours – a rare feat for a daddy and baby so young.  He weathered it well, although I think he was ready to go home after two days of single parenting.  The babies didn’t play together too much, but we’re sure they won’t be able to keep their hands off each other for many years to come.  Penpals in the meantime?

Someone managed to actually buy Kaya a St. Patrick’s Day outfit that fits!  She’s growing like a weed and just entering 12 month clothing, and she’s skyrocketing through the growth chart percentiles.

Kaya has figured out that nothing makes her look cooler than sporting the sippy cup and bib look.

Emerson Trey and his dad Carlos are visiting from DC this week.  I’m babysitting tonight while Tommy and Carlos are out on the town.  Kaya’s asleep, so it’s just baby Trey and I keeping the party going – but he sure knows how to party!

Oh…you would like ice in your drink?  Sorry, not at the Rose household.  But you can have unlimited frozen prune puree!

Our apartment is just a little too far away from the laundry room for Kaya to be left alone while I do laundry.  And three flights of stairs makes it difficult to carry both a hamper and a baby. Solution?  Put the baby in the hamper with the clean clothes.

Kaya cut her first tooth about a week ago.  Bottom left middle tooth.  And it is REALLY hard to get a picture of it.  This is the best I can do.  It’s there – I swear.
