Suddenly and unexpectedly, a single beautiful tulip grew out of our yard. One of our parents must have planted it years ago.

The Rose family is happy to announce the birth of our newest member: Elena Meredith Rose (we plan to call her Laney for short). She was born November 16 at 8:03am weighing in at 6 lb 10 oz and 19.5 inches – the same height and one ounce heavier than Kaya. She can’t wait to meet her big sister and Max!
Sad news in the Kircher family this week. Kaya’s great grandfather (my maternal grandfather) passed away last Sunday.
The things he was most proud of include serving in the US Navy, attending MIT, and assisting in the invention of the hovercraft with Charlie Fletcher.
He loved telling stories and would talk for as long as anyone around would listen. Sometimes longer 🙂
He was much loved and we are very sad to lose the Kircher family patriarch. Â Kaya got to meet him as a baby (I hardly recognize her in this picture though) – she brought him an MIT hat to win his heart forever. Â He will be missed.
So, we’ve been misplacing things lately. Most notably, we have lost two credit cards and a therapeutic wrist brace. We’ve looked everywhere and they are nowhere to be found. Very strange.
This morning, I think we cracked the case. We noticed that Kaya has learned to use the foot-activated trashcan in our kitchen. Also, she thinks its a game and she likes playing it!
