The Rose family is happy to announce the birth of our newest member: Elena Meredith Rose (we plan to call her Laney for short). She was born November 16 at 8:03am weighing in at 6 lb 10 oz and 19.5 inches – the same height and one ounce heavier than Kaya. She can’t wait to meet her big sister and Max!

Kaya has finally warmed up to wearing her Duke shirt and is all ready for the football game today – beat Virginia Tech!

Kaya sent me her first email today – it was pretty cute!

We couldn’t be more excited that Dylan and Piolina finally made it to Durham! Sadly this means Aunt Laura will now be a few miles down the street in their apartment (named the “Dillard House”) instead of upstairs (sadly for us – we’re pretty sure Laura is sick of sharing a bathroom with a two year old).  They moved into an awesome, haunted but spacious apartment – so spacious that the poop (our large brown childhood play pillow) was resurrected!  All hail the poop.

Had a great time trick or treating last night!

A bit of last minute pumpkin carving at our house last night. Tommy gets all the credit for the artistry – but I get the idea points. (That’s the Testive fox on the right, for those of you that don’t know Tommy’s company logo: Testive.com)

Not actually our Halloween costumes, but you can imagine how good our real costumes will be if our fake costumes are this awesome.  (Note: that is Laura in the picture, not me)

Autumn is not complete without a trip to the NC state fair.  We had a relatively brief visit this year, as it got quite crowded by mid-day. But, we managed to eat some very disgusting food, ride the carousel and see the animals. Next year I may even try some fried pumpkin pie.

We couldn’t convince Laura to come camping with us (she wanted to stay home and “pay her bills”), but we did convince her to come visit our campsite for a little while. Kaya was pretty excited for her visit.

Kaya helped make a fire. She likes fire 🙂
